Uganda Evaluation Association and Young Emerging Evaluators Workshop

The Uganda Evaluation Association carried out an Organizational Health Check and Root Cause Analysis Workshop aimed at strengthening our institutional effectiveness and service to members. The main facilitator was Center for Learning on Evaluation and Results – Anglophone Africa (CLEAR-AA). The workshop took place on Monday 5th May, 2025 at Hotel Africana.

The workshop was a success due to the active participation of key UEA stakeholders. It was attended by UEA board members, general members, representatives from partner institutions (such as the Office of the Prime Minister), and other strategic stakeholders within Uganda’s evaluation and development community.

Specific objectives included:

1. Reviewing UEA’s current organizational structure, membership engagement strategies, outreach mechanisms, and performance to identify both strengths and areas requiring enhancement.
2. Analyzing root causes behind observed gaps and persistent challenges, with attention to institutional, financial, and structural dimensions.
3. Developing a diagnostic framework that organizes improvement ideas into four key domains: institutional strengthening, member services, partnership and influence, and inclusion and sustainability.
