This session explores how the EU uses evaluations to ensure its policies are evidence-based, transparent, and impactful. It introduces the principles of Better Regulation, including the role of independent quality assurance, and outlines how evaluations are designed and carried out. Drawing on practical examples from EU humanitarian operations, the session highlights how lessons learned feed directly into strategy, programming, and decision-making, ultimately strengthening accountability and improving support to people in crisis.
